Specifically swimming pools. hammer

She (dog) went in after a frog recently and now she is constantly taking a swim looking for more.
The warden wife ain't happy as we can't have a wet dog in/out of the house all day.

I'm snickering in the background as the wet towels are stacking up.

Some folks mouths, flat out runs their minds.

I personally wouldn't want to break a dog from liking water but I would think the e collar would be the most effective way.

Make it stay outside until it dries off.

What breed?? And I sort of agree with kdub, unless the dog is old and/or has other issues that make getting in the pool dangerous.

If the dog is wet leave it outside until it dries off.

My last dog had zero interest in the pool, which I was fine with. She shed like crazy too which would mean dog hair all in it in addition to everything else that finds it’s way into it

She's a 3 1/2 year old Brittany with a heck of a Brittany nose and spirit!
It appears this has become a game now with her. Anybody know where I can get a doggie snorkel and mask? Sonofa....dog!

Let the dog have fun. Water is where it’s at. Seriously, maybe throw it in when it’s 20 degrees outside may break him.

I don’t think there is anyway to make it stop at this point. You now own a water dog.

My suggestions are so logical I’m sure you have thought of them. Other than some serious training it seems to me you have a few options.

1) take the dog outside on a leash while it does it’s business and then bring it inside.

2) build an outdoor kennel for when you want to be able to put the dog outside but not attended to.

3) build a fence around the pool or buy an invisible fence and use that to keep the dog out.

The times that’s it’s ok for the dog to play in the water, let it out unleashed. It will know this is free time and head straight for the pool.
