I'm going to spend a week there starting May 13, never been before. All I know about it is clear, deep, and beautiful. And the state record, and possibly world record, walleye came out of there. I want some walleye in my mouth, anyone ever been to Greers Ferry?

Ya goin to be havin' a nice shore lunch, eh ? Sounds like fun Planer boards and some Norman Deep Little Ns and Deep Tiny N's in Tennessee shad or similar color for that clear water then annoyingly drive all over the lake in a grid pattern like an obliviote.

I caught a nice walleye there bouncing a 1 oz. gold Hopkins spoon off the rock ledges around a overpass. Fun time.

I grew up going to the little red a couple times a year for vacation every year. Then my parents moved there in 92. I've been on the river hundreds of times. But i've never fished the lake

I've spent many happy days and nights on Greers the 23 years I lived in AR. Most of the time I fished for hybrids at night in the Devils Fork area and would catch an occasional walleye. The biggest I caught was under the Narrows bridge. We usually anchored in 30 ft. water in a flat area next to a channel right before dark, put out two floating lights, and fished with nightcrawlers. Baited a large crappie jig with a piece of crawler (important to let the worm dangle from the hook), jig to bottom and crank up a couple of turns. When the shad started coming to the lights, the hybrid action was unreal. 2-3 lbs. each. Most fun fishing I've ever experienced and did it for years in late July and early August. Most people used either shad they netted or minnows. However, the nightcrawler is a much superior bait. It's a beautiful lake. Take a trip up to Mountain View while there. The Devils Fork area is nice because you have access to different branches that meet there. Very deep water in the channels - 150 ft.

But i've never fished the lake Do the walleye get up in the river? I've never fished for them specifically, we used to catch some big ones accidentally on Eufaula bass fishing.

We trout fished the river below the dam. Never caught a walleye there
