Minn Kota 4 bank charger has a glass fuse (30 amp) on every positive and negative wire (8 total). Every one of them were getting very hot and one had even started to burn the rubber sleeve around it. Replaced em all with new in line waterproof blade fuses and no more heat!! The ones I had were probably about 10 years. I should have done this a long time ago.

Sure seems odd to have fuses on the neg. & pos. leads. Most electrical devices only have fuses on the pos. leg.

got to clean the ends every so often to keep the corrosion off, makes the connection less than good and creates the heat. good call on going bladed, easier to take care of.

I thought the same thing. 4 bank Minn Kota Charger, all of them had glass fuses. I did not design it, I just saw they were getting bad and replaced them all.
