So I've never been to port Aransas and thinking of a scouting trip mid-summer. If I were to haul a tear-drop down and beach camp, is there some rule of etiquette about running a generator at night? I'm just thinking find a spot away from others, and the noise of the wind and waves will drown it out. Just making sure I'm not missing some general rule about noise. Thanks!

Definitely hear people running generators. That being said, there's nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the Gulf smile

Get you an inverter, can hardly even hear them run. Or, you can also put up a 2 or 3 sided wall around them, and cut down on like 80% of the noise. Of course, it might be cheaper to buy a new generator than a sheet of plywood right now. LOL

A 2000w Honda Inverter/generator is somewhat noisy..

I camp on the beach in Freeport spring and fall, it's not uncommon for people to run generators all night, and it's really annoying when trying to sleep. I've had guys park 100 yards from my camper and run 7000w construction gennys and lights all night.

That being said, if you're staying at least a 1/4 mile from anyone camping personally I don't think it's a big deal. Especially if you've got an inverter generator.
