I am noticing this more often. Are they ashamed of the prices , Or just too lazy to keep up with changes ?

I had a burger and fries at a new place the other day. it was $19 by the time I got out of there. It's getting rediculous.

Why is your money worth half now? one example is the price of a new fence. it's doubled in price. I think a sheet of plywood goes for 42 dollars a sheet now. it was around 10...….

Mo Not sure about what sites you are looking at, but prices in my industry (food service/retail) are off the charts. Logistics and labor are extremely challenging. I can't price myself high enough/fast enough. We aren't talking monthly, weekly, or daily changes. We are talking hourly/every minute. Add in the tendency of people to no show/ghost and its a realistic picture of what goes on every single day. It has been so stressful and difficult that I have changed how I quote pricing. It is costing me some business because some people that don't understand the challenges expect everything to stay the same. I've become more comfortable being realistic instead of telling people what they want to hear. If you can do better, go elsewhere. I'm certainly happy to have a job in this climate but there are new challenges. I'm working 3x as hard for half as much.

For chains with multiple locations in various markets price is often different. Usually you can pick a location for online order for example and price will pop up. And yes, it could be in the future companies stream line the price change steps as biden drives us into hyper inflation. I'm working on new menus now and am probably gonna print MKT as the wing price and post in store weekly.

Why is your money worth half now? You have a million dollars - and Biden decides to give everyone a million dollars. The playing field is effectively leveled, the millionaire decimated and everyone has the same buying power as prices adjust.. A 9 dollar hamburger (9% of $100) meal now costs $90,000. Yours and everyone else's buying power is decimated.

In the original concept I was involved in we had a 3 tier price system
Metro markets high expensive real estate and high hourly wages had a price structure
East Texas rural markets where it was cheaper to operate had a lower structure
West Texas where labor costs are thru the roof and staffing is near impossible had a super high menu cost and about half the items on menu for ease of operation.

Like black sea bass or fresh Maine lobster. Put on a gay pirate outfit and dash hot sauce on them once on the table and I know a guy who will pay you like $400 for an order or wings. I bet you move more wings than ever!
