My wife has her first car still. It is a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. It had some engine trouble and sat for like two years. She saved up and got it fixed. Now it is running well, but it has a half tank of fuel left in it. What do I the fuel in it? I am afraid there is stuff in the tank that might mess something up. Should I be worried about it or just go roll coal?

Roll coal bruh. Do you ever talk to Dusty Talley, he's got one, he could tell you.

I owned a 2003 too with the 5 speed.
If it was me I would just keep topping off the tank and diluting the fuel. Plan on replacing the fuel filter at least once and when you feel like you have run the old fuel through it add a fungicide to the tank. That will loosen any growth in the tank so you may need to replace the filter after that.
The 2003 was the last year of their mechanical injector pump. Easy to work on.

top it off and go drive it till you burn half a tank out, fill again.
get some lucas injector cleaner and use too much of it, stuff does wonders on the diesel wax buildup on injectors and it won't hurt to put way too much in.
