That's back when baseball had athletes that were real role models. Now days the players would be striking the match while on their knees during the national anthem. Bastaches! I gave up "professional" baseball, basketball and football long ago.

I gave up "professional" baseball, basketball and football long ago. This. Anybody that looks at professional sports as anything other than entertainment and solely entertainment is off base. That's just stinkin' thinkin' ! Role models . . . never ever thought of a pro sports player as a role model and can't imagine thinking any famous person worthy of such (all though there's been a few). I'd think that effort be better spent on trying to emulate some brave 19 year old crawling through a tunnel in Viet Nam with a flashlight and a .45, or some fire fighter running into a burning building to save lives. Maybe consider that EMT or paramedic out on a dark roadway that makes the right calls and save a life. Better yet, the best one would be the one perfect man that obediently went to his death after suffering immeasurable pain and humiliation so every one of us might not suffer for ever. Put those on your list of role models.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
