Great post and information gentlemen  Doc, I caught a bluegill exactly like that one on Decker and submitted it as a hybrid. I too, thought it was a bluegill / redear mix. TPWD called it a bluegill. I still think they are hybrids. I do not know how TPW gets a Bluegill out of that fish. I am still sticking with Hybrid. As for record purposes It is what TPW wants it to be!

Chris you sure we dont need to go to Decker tomorrow. Haha This is another fish I caught on this Decker trip. It’s amazing how hard these bull Red Breast fight !

I missed getting on Decker last year due to Austin Covid Regulations on Decker, "No Boat but you can fish off the bank".  So it was great to get back on the lake again. Amazing trip, my best ever on Decker. Lots of peeing going on with these perch yesterday. And some females look like they had swallowed a walnut. This was my favorite perch of the day. A hybrid of some kind I guess. Anyone have comments on this perch ?? ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/04/full-5094-93062-goyjusperchdecker_4_17_21.jpg) Looks like more of a Longear to me. Far from being any I.D. expert but for the Longear I have seen posted on this forum over the years, your looks like one of em. Nice fish.
