Another thread on Choke Canyon brought up the subject of gators, and since I don't like to type as much as I once did, I dug up and blew the dust off an old thread from a while back.

Dang, a decade ago on that one! Poor Ol’ Cloud Dancer, wonder if that guys still alive, says 2014 was the last time he was on the forum...maybe the gators got him. taz

That was a fun read. The gators at Coleto were much more aggressive, especially in spring.

There used to be one gator at Coleto, I watched him from grow from 3 foot to over 5 foot. He would always be sunning and would raise up and hiss if you got too close. Game warden told me someone shot and killed it. I had one gator that must have had a nest back in some reeds close to the intake of the plant. She actually came at my boat and would follow till I was a distance from her, then she would turn and go back to where she was.
