Not to beat a dead horse with lithium ions again but I have a serious question.

I’m looking at one for an RV. A lot of batteries will be labeled Marine/RV because I think it has to do with their duty cycle and ability to discharge fully.

So it appears Li-Ion would be a good choice for an RV as well.

Anyone disagree? Anyone run one in an RV? What’s the biggest I can buy for that application?

I switched to 50ah Lithium's on my boat and I am very pleased. I wouldn't hesitate to switch on the RV as well, I'd go with a 50ah battery and put the small Noco Genius 2a charger maintainer on it and set it and forget it for about 10 years.

I've just put two 300 amp hour batteries in my RV. I'm putting a residential fridge in this summer also. I choose Life blue batteries because they are 300 amp hours and have Bluetooth so I can monitor what's going on with them.

I put 50ah in my boat as well and I've been pleased. Saturday was a pretty windy day so I stayed on it all day long. When I got off the water I will had 67% left in the batteries which is pretty amazing for how hard I had to run the trolling motor that day. Only took about 1.15 hours to recharge as well.

I am the only one not impressed with lithiums so far, I am able to kill a brand new 50ah faster than I was killing my old lead battery. Special chargers and high prices, meh...not impressed right now. But I now know how many amps my graphs pull and it’s shocking. Hopefully they really last 10”ish” years. I’m shocked that guys can run 2 50’s on their trolling motors and not kill them.

Maybe you have a ground issue causing your batteries to discharge faster.

one thing that will make a huge difference is if your tm is brushless or not, brushless tend to extend battery life by a substantial amount.

are you charging with a li-ion charger or a standard like a minn kota pc? found out it makes a big difference in how they charge.

we have 2 in the sherp in parallel and I just ordered a li-ion charger to keep them topped off.

on graphs only, check your grounds and tighten them, do all connections but grounds for sure.

are you wired direct from batt to graphs? fuses or breakers? anything else at all on the circuit?

First time out I had 2 graphs running full time and 1 on standby. The lithium was dead in less than 7 hours. Charged it up and the battery app will show the amount of amps being drawn. I was shocked to see how many amps the battery pulled while in standby. My Garmin and LS pulls 4 amp, Lowrance pulls 2 and my standby graph pulls about 1-1.5. 7-8amps with the graphs @ 7 hours = dead battery. Piss poor planning on my part, never thought graphs would pull that kind of power.

Lithium battery, then a fuse, then 10g to a switch, then to a fuse block that both Lowrances are tied too. The Garmin has basically the same thing. Battery, fuse, 10g to a switch, then to graph and Gls10.

??? I don’t have the lithium grounded to the water ground, is there some real potential for what you mentioned? Should I run a ground from the lithium to the main cranking battery ground?

Drag a small barge with a diesel generator on it to keep your batteries charged.

You could put a port a pot and grill on there also. You would have everything you need.

Check out sea clear power on you tube, pretty interesting.

I have only seen people running their 2, 3, or 4 big graphs on 100A or more often a 125A Lithium.

They only ones I have seen running 50A or smaller are Kayak people or someone who has added a 4th or 5th battery when they thought the big battery wasn't big enough. confused 3
