A local pond/lake near me is being drawn down by i think about 15 to 20 ft. While it is down what should i look for?
I'm guessing high points and low points. But i imagine there are other things to look for when i get a unique look at this lakes bottom.....

And fish it while it is down. Sometimes the fishing is fantastic in big draw downs if it is down for a few days.

Rattle traps, sinkers, rods and reels?

Crankbaits stuck in tree trunks. Especially the trees with a bunch of line wrapped up in it!

Oh, and the above mentioned stuff too.

Look for guns, knives, claw hammers, anything that can be used in court.

Addendum: If you see the roof of a car, just hope it's a cool muscle car.

Might try my hand at some magnet fishing at the same time smile
Photo's are a great idea, i got some when it froze over, could kind of tell the deep spots.
From the email i got, it sounds like it is going to be down for a month or so. Apparently the dam needs some repair.

The bottom of the pond/lake is going to be very muddy/ soft i assume? at least until it dries out

If you know someone that has a drone go get some overhead photos while it is down. Then get some more when it fills back up.
You can compare and have your own topo map.
