What is “the high line?” I’ve never even laid an eye on any of these lakes.. are we talking about power line running through the lake?

Highline wires are what city folk refer to as power lines

When you get to them you will know it.

You can not miss them. cheers

If you go to Google Earth and look at Lake Nac you can see the lines running across the lake.

Are the ramps on Pinkston a [censored] show or what?

The road to the lake 2 years ago was a single lane (dirt) road with deep ditches on each side. Oncoming traffic? maybe an inch or 2 to get by. Boat ramp, plenty of room to launch, no room to maneuver & parking was a JOKE. The lake was great, but not enough to go back until they improve all of the above.

Reality. What a concept!

Kurth

Kurth is just another lake now. Do not go expecting anything spectacular. Those days are long gone. You don't even see fish hardly over 4-5lbs on beds out there. Pretty shocking as to what it's become

Naconiche... hands down. Beautiful lake, great facilities, parking, ramp...

So due to some life events within the family, this original plan may have to be detoured..

So now I'm stuck between getting a room in Nacadogches for a 4-5 days and fishing all the lakes mentioned in this thread, or stopping at Pinkston or Nachonie early on my way to stay in Jefferson for Lake o the pines and Caddo lake.. Decisons decisons.......

All three very good lakes and managed for size as each is a slot lake Pinkston probably receives the least pressure followed by Naconiche the lake Nacogdoches. All three are filled with stumps with Pinkston the worst. Pinkston has the best water clarity. As for boa ramps Naconiche is new and charges 5 bucks to launch, Nacogdoches has two ramps both free. Pinkston has two ramps a dirt ramp on the north end and a small concrete ramp on the south end. both ramps require caution.

You might also think about little Lake Timpson. It's just off 59 before the town of Timpson. I grew up fishing there and it had some very good fish years back but haven't fished there in several years.

I'm still not understanding what to be cautious about with them.. I've heard everyone say how dirty their boat gets and how terrible the road is, that's about it

Naconiche has lakefront cabins for rent along with an RV park across from the ramp which is excellent. The ramps at Pinkston aren’t maintained the best. The ramp at the dam needs to be cleaned off, however you can still launch and load but your trailer will be uneven in the water. There’s more room to park by the dam ramp. The ramp by the road that crosses the upper end usually requires you to back your back truck tires in the water in the summer. Nacogdoches has plenty of parking if you get there early during June before all the pleasure boaters. There’s no room accommodations on Nacogdoches or Pinkston to my knowledge.

Personally I don’t get to Nacogdoches that often to advise you on what to expect in June as far as the fishing. Naconiche should have a very noticeable thermocline by then and the schooling action should be great. Look for schoolers on the south arm of Naconiche as they tend to work certain areas regularly. Once you find them try not to chase them but pick a spot in that area and wait for them. The bass will be in and around the grass as well then. Some will be suspended in the timber also. Numerous techniques will work to catch them but it’s best to try something others aren’t throwing.

Pinkston sets up a lot like Naconiche in June and has some of the best schooling action in East Texas. Don’t be surprised if you bust a dirty thirty sack. Main lake and secondary points will be a big player then on Pinkston too. Have a fun trip and tight lines!

PS It’s best to come in from Hwy 7 to Pinkston without having your boat covered.
