Hello All!!! I have a friend coming in to town this week and am thinking of inviting him to bring his kayak with him and do a bit of fishing maybe Monday morning. Temps are showing to be in the low/mid 50's with wind around 6mph. My question is how yall would go about fishing there as I have only kayak fished Calaveras once. Should I aim for reds or cats if I go? Any advice if I take him out there? Thanks in advance!!!
Another thought would be to look towards somewhere in the Hill Country around Fredericksburg/Stonewall to kayak fish as I do know he wants me to take him out to get set up with a bow for archery season any my main bow shop is in Stonewall. Any suggestions as to places to try fishing up that direction as a possibility as well????

Dress warm... even though mid 50's isn't that cold, the sudden drop from warmer weather sure makes it feel colder than it is. Nothing makes a tough fishing day worse than being cold. I've never fished the place but I'd keep moving (paddling) until I found something that looked like a redfish.
