Yes and Yes.

Both issues are a pretty easy yes if you think about the reality of it. These things have been going on since the beginning of time despite people trying to stop them based on their own personal, cultural or societal moralities.

Making them illegal actually makes them more dangerous for those engaged in these behaviors and society and communities at large.

I could expand upon just those two ideas at nauseam... I'll digress other than to say yeah I do think I'm probably a true Libertarian.

I've had this argument a dozen times with my dad. I'm having flashbacks now.

What’s your response?

Basically society as a whole has a responsibility to be moral and having a moral code. Yes there's always been prostitutes and fornication overall. That's not an argument to make it legal . One could argue there is no victim. But that can be questioned.

With heroine use I believe it shouldn't be enabled by the state. Where do you draw the line? I believe it to be a concerning health issue. I think if one has those health issues then they should be liable for all costs. But the costs will fall on the taxpayer many times. As with many other issues I don't want to finance such unproductive behavior. For the record I feel the same about alcohol and cigarettes as I've seen the cost on the healthcare industry and insurance companies (everyone's' premiums go up).

Do the taxpayers of Nevada pay for the health checks of the legal prostitutes? If they do that's a travesty.

And yes I know you can't legislate morality but the line should be drawn somewhere. Of course my morals are shaped by my judeo christian ethics.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

What if we had prostitute and heroin use training with licensing then State issued permits?

Y'all don't have a Walmart ?

Maybe my concentration is on all the other wonders of Walmart lol. We've had constitutional carry here for some time now. I asked my wife, neither one of us have ever seen anyone open carry.
For what it is worth I visit Walmart ONLY as a last resort for something and that is the only place I have seen it.

So no need to worry about those guys doing something stupid with a gun, other than screaming at the sight of someone else carrying.

Try telling that to this guy:

If it was put to a popular vote it would win overwhelmingly in Texasj

According to a UT poll, 67% support open carry but with a license.

Yeah. I am not sure what that had to do with the topic at all.

The guy could not legally own a gun.

The way this worked in Nevada was if you cannot legally own a gun you could not open carry... They had open carry WITHOUT an LTC (you did have to have a "blue card" that showed you owned the gun and it was registered with the local police in your name) but to register it you had to do a background check to show you can own a gun.

To carry it concealed you needed to get the LTC through a similar process as here in Texas. The range qualification (which was MUCH more difficult than Texas' like you really had to be a decent shot, not just able to hit the side of a barn), then the 12 hours of class, the fingerprinting and the fees... and more fees. And then you pay some fees.

This crackhead murdering coward in Burleson seems to have a long record and could not own a gun legally.
