Hard to tell from the photo but looks like it might be web worms. No they dont make big web nest. These suckers just hang down from a web off the oak trees.

They are called Canker Worms or Inch Worms. They usually hatch early spring and are gone in about 3 to 4 weeks. There is a article in todays San Antonio Express News about them. mysa news on the web.

Yes Chuck i saw that on the news. Theyre still gross i cant bbq in peace. Came inside the other day and i had a few on me.

They get super loud. When we fished for alligator gar the sound would travel down river then back in a wave. The ENTIRE time we were there, but worth it lol. Thanks for sharing that link Icon4
