Guys are saying that all around the docks, there’s concrete chunks and a shallow sand bar. I haven’t hit any of it yet, but I did ding my prop once by having my motor tilted too low. I would think it’s days of being open are few.

Saw that there is a kayak tournament out of SA on 5-1, with the amount of boat traffic and low water, I sure wouldn’t want to take a kayak across any funnel/choke points. It’s about getting to be time for people to quit having tournaments on the lake. Wouldn’t be so dangerous if the kayaks only launched at Mason & 99, but I don’t blame them for not wanting to do that. Hopefully they are at least smart enough not to be moving around in the dark early hours.

Been here at Choke Canyon since Sunday. South Shore ramp is a concern. Looking from the water I would stay on the right side toward the nicer dock. We were idling in with the motor up and still clipped something that had to be just under the water when coming in on the left side. Put a small ding on the prop but otherwise okay.

Left side (west) of the ramp has a massive angle, I had hell getting my boat loaded on that side last weekend. Messed my prop on the sand bar there a few weeks ago, had it fixed and then bent it up again in the river. Not sure the lake is fishing all that well for all the prop mishaps. LBJ is a much better lake, I think I’ll start going there instead.

I would avoid South Shore ramp all together. Lake is on fire right now! Find another ramp and get it on! 5 and 6xds were the deal for us this week. Follow up with ball and chain when they get slow on CB
