Spawning. Good luck trying to catch one if they are spawning.

That must be why I saw several near the shore at Medina last week.

They do everything but bite a hook well when they are in love. I saw one sail up into a low fork of a willow tree and just stay there for about 45 sec. then back in the water.

How about walking thru them.. These were buffalo. Hundreds along the shallows just after sunset.. Was amazing, and never seen so many large fish in one area. Their dorsal fins and tails were coming out of the water. Not at all scared of the flashlight.. Lake grapevine. Sorry for the poor video, the gooro didn't do very well in the dark. But you can see some of them. I was able to reach down and touch them, they would swim off but were slowly. If i had two hands probably would have had some fun, and would have been soaked. This was a gravel main point on the south side mid lake, looking for a crankbait that was lost after we finished fishing.

Give it another 3-4 weeks and you can slay them in shallow water.Every May we go on the annual carp run.We fill a cooler, take them home and can them......a years supply of the most delicious croquettes you'll ever eat.

The carp and buffalo are really rolling and I have been doing very well on carp and buffalo in shallow water on range cubes and on flies. Here is one I caught recently. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/04/full-107020-93415-ade75593_a8fb_4327_a1e0_6f29bab82e66.jpeg) Here is how I rig the cubes and a video of catching some. https://youtu.be/4HJNrljkWGIhttps://youtu.be/TUrINkjx2Kk
