Drove by there last week didn’t have time to stop, it used to be pretty good... how is it these days

I ate there about a year and a half ago and it was good. I’ve eaten there 4-5 times overall and never a bad meal. That’s where I had my first piece of buttermilk pie, it was delicious

Back in the 70s and early 80s the Smokestack was really good. Last time we stopped there (about 10 years ago) it was just OK.

I eat breakfast there from time to time. It's ok

I think Marys is way overrated. CF soso and expensive. I stopped at Smokestack a few months ago because New York Hill was packed! Smokestack daily special was meatloaf and mashed potatoes and it was outstanding- and less than $10. New York Hill had a pretty large price increase last year in an attempt to recover from the Covid shutdown. Still a good value compared to the Metroplex IMO.

I stopped by many years ago on the way to the deer lease. With a name like Smokestack I thought it was a BBQ restaurant and walked out when I found out it wasnt.

Old historic building is worth a trip inside for a meal. Fixed up nicely.
