My kind of fishing. Awesome job. Side Note: As always catching a nice variety of fish on the JIGLYF Jigs! How often are you changing out colors during a trip? Thanks Laker One! We try to catch at least 2 fish with each jig. OR if the color is on fire we use it till we loose it to brush or a solid tree under water. Thanks!

I use a three fish count. I figure if I can catch three fish in a short period of time on a particular jig, that jig is going to workout. However I have seen on a lot of my crappie trips that certain colors work better at different locations of the water body I am fishing. Go figure.

So how did the turkey hunting go? Is turkey hunting something you offer or is he just a good friend that you let hunt them?

We notice the same thing...that in one spot they hir one color and down the river they hit another. We beleive its the forage they are keying on.

Brian is a good friend and does animal research for the Smithsonian Museum and has been out here before. The Rio Grande turkey specimen that is currently in the Smithsonian is from this ranch, The Tularosa Nueces. Brian has asked me to catch 4 Rio Grande cichlids for specimens and take fin clippings and measurements. They are to be sent to the Smithsonian to be studied, mounted, and displayed. Side note: It will be cool knowing I will have a rio displayed in the Smithsonian

Glad y'all got the Mid Atlantic fella on some fish. From my small experience up here, they don't have anything like the majestic Rio Grand Cichlid up here! Hopefully soon I can get the family to the Smithsonian and see y'all contributions!

Side Note: Ask if they can put the jig you caught it on in it's mouth as part of the display.

Brian is waiting on the Smithsonian to start mailing and receiving and he would get back with me.
