We had group of turkey hunters from Maryland and one of them loves to crappie fish so it wasnt to hard to convince him to come fish with us.
It turned out great, we had tied some new color combos that needed to be tested. He has fished with our old style jigs in the Chesapeake Bay in the past and did very well.
Our guest, Brian caught his first ever rio grand cichlid. What a trophy for a first! It measured 10 1/4 inches
He also caught a few crappie and bass as well.
Leo and I caught a few fish also. Here are a some more pics.
Their teeth aren't as viscous as they look.
Fish were caught in 12fow holding by brushpiles. Most were big females. All fish were caught on JIGLYF jigs. We kept 26 crappie, we kept a few and gave some to the turkey hunters for a yummy Texas crappie fish fry. The rest of the fish were released to swim another day.
We had a great day fishing with Brian!
