I bought one to secure 2x4 cedar as plates in a screened in patio project. The Ramset sucks. Using #4 load and 3” Ramset concrete nails, the nail put a small divot in the concrete and make a u-turn. I’ll be taking this $100 junk back to Home Depot tomorrow morning along with the nails and shot.

Anyone else have this experience with Ramsets?

I prefer the drill and set redhead anchors. I’ve had the same experience a few times with the Ramset.

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

I don't own or use one but if I did I'm sure it would work perfectly. Sorry yours isn't.

hops helpful hint # 0347-259752957890776

go to a rental store and rent the commercial type that looks like a pistol, look up what loads you need before and make sure they have them then rent it.

I have never liked the hammer blow type, have used them but I also swing a 28 oz framing hammer which may make a difference in how it sets the load off.

I returned the Ramset. Went with Tapco screws. Worked like a charm.
