I'm looking for a good guide that will put us on crappie as well as use the trip as teaching/learning opportunity. Any suggestions on who to use?

If you are wanting to learn the fine art of fishing all the standing timber in Ray Roberts...Paul Obier is the man for sure.

Been with both Cliff and Paul.. Both are excellent guides and can put you on fish... I believe Cliff fishes brushpiles more, but does some tree fishing as well... Paul is more into fishing the timber, and has some really good tips on that.. Both are great to go with!!!

Your ice chest will be full with both of em smile

I don't know anything about Paul but Cliff has my vote. I learned alot from him on our trip and have been able to take what I learned down to Aquilla and have done pretty good fishing standing timber. What I liked the most about him was that he was willing to share his knowledge. Great guy.

I agree with Crappie Chaser. Both are great for putting you on fish. Different styles. Can't go wrong with either guide. We are lucky to have some really knowledgable guides on RR as well as the other lakes in this area. Good luck!

Cliff was great when me and a buddy went and was like a fun uncle to my girls when I took them out. They are both shy but opened up to him and had a trip of a lifetime. I've told all my friends and coworkers about Cliff. Both times he put us on the fish and could explain it. Nothing against Paul, just haven't had the pleasure of fishing with him (yet).

What a maroon!

Cliff is the professor of Crappieology on Ray Roberts. No way you go wrong with Cliff.
