I just looked at one being loaded up at Academy, yesterday. Had never checked them out before. I started out with a Perception kayak 18 years ago and still have it, so you can call me a Perception homer. roflmao It is heavy but any kayak that wide and that length is probably going to be within 10 to 15 lbs of it. I will say that Perception kayaks had the reputation of using the best plastic and the best hardware (stainless steel nuts and bolts) back in the day and I have no reason to believe they skimp on stuff these days. Would I paddle a kayak like that... nope, I prefer low seating position and skinny kayaks that can handle the windiest conditions. Now put a trolling motor on that kayak and then I might consider going to those type watercraft. Its a good looking boat in my opinion. cheers

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
