I am new to the area and am a very avid bass fisherman. I have been here about 3 weeks and have been to choke canyon once and braunig once. I caught 4 at choke and 4 at braunig. I was just curious if anyone would be willing to go with me once or take me once to show me how to run choke? I went that one time but never ventured far because everyone at the launch said if you don’t know how to run it don’t. So I ran from the main south launch out to an island/point across the lake. Any tips or personnel willing to help me out would be appreciated. I don’t need gps coords or secret spots I just want to safely run the lake without tearing up my boat. I did notice it looked to be 20 ft low.

Thank you for your service...as far as the lakes in your area. I'm no help at this time.

From what I've read / seen Choke is pretty much idle only. It's a stump mine field.

23’ low. Even in some places that you think you can run, you can’t. Near the end of Calliham, there’s a big concrete water tower just below the surface. About the only safe place, is from South Shore ramp to Huisache island.

Best thing you can do, when it hits 26’ low, go mark all the death traps and pray the lake comes up.
