9100$ 35 year architectural shingles, and replacing two roof turbines. ~1900 sq ft. home.
Also is it worth the extra cost to spring for an upgrade to Class 4 shingles? 35 year shingles?? In North Texas no reason to pay for that upgrade. Hail will get you on 15 year average. thats not how it works

How many squares is it and what manufacture and style of shingle are they quoting? I can tell you if that’s about right or not. Lots of variables though to a roof. 1900 sq foot home doesn’t tell me how many squares it is. That’s the magic number Joel is our official TFF roofer. Let him give you a quote. This. He did my roof and it turned out great.

just curious, what is a "square" and how big is it? 100sqft just about everything in the roofing business is figured by the SQ. Even things that aren’t sold by the square can be priced by the square, that’s how roofers can fire off a price per square to replace a roof because while there’s lots of variables, they’re mostly the same roof to roof.

just curious, what is a "square" and how big is it? 100 square foot, 10x10 and comes out to 3 bundles of shingles. makes a difference if roof is a hip or a gable or a mansard or texas hip etc. lots of different styles and pitches and the sq ft will change with each type on the same house below. got pics of roof?

Have your insurance company look at it. I’m an adjuster it’s what we do. My personal opinion is Class 4 shingle upgrade is a waste. I’ve bought too many roofs damaged by hail that’s not supposed to be big enough to damage them. Get quality laminate shingle and it will last through what it should and you will get hit by a storm that insurance can help with replacement before it’s too worn out.

The roof is still "working" as in no leaks yet, but its old and i think its time. I'd like to get it fixed BEFORE it starts leaking and we don't know until the ceiling caves in (again) ya know?

Exactly bc a leaking roof isn’t always covered by insurance. Always depends on why it’s leaking. Glad it’s not currently. Quotes aren’t always needed. Let insurance write it up and find a contractor you want to work with and let them work together.

If you had a 40' roof and a 12/12 pitch it would sound like a deal! So many factors.
