To stay on topic, I prefer the jackhammer.

I tend to agree. I think a jackhammer excels in grass. If I'm around any type grass (which is not often) I have one tied on. Around wood and brush I stay hung up constantly with a jackhammer. No idea why that is. The original chatterbait seems to perform better in those situations for me.

They are both made by zman. I like the elite the best especially for the price. It's head design is the closest to the jackhammer and can't tell the difference doing side by side pool test. They catch the same too in my opinion. Blade hits the head of the elite the same. Bigger hook, hand tied skirt. I just can't buy a jackhammer for that price when I can get the elite version. The old elites weren't as high quality as they are now

The Elites are good baits as well. I picked up my jackhammers on sale and have plenty of them. Though I did pick up some Elites in color combinations that weren’t offered in the jackhammer.

I've fished the Original and the Jackhammer (never fished a Thunder Cricket) and am catching more fish on the Jackhammer BUT getting snagged on stumps/brush the same. Both seem to be built about the same-the hooks, snaps, skirts have all held up equally for me (I drag them through all kinds of trash including hammering them against the sides of plenty of docks) and I've never had either one break on me. I'm sure someone will point out the components in the JH are much better (thus the price difference) but either way, both have held up well enough for me. There was a long thread earlier on preference for chatterbait trailers. I'm inclined to think the trailer might have more of an effect in getting bites.

I guess the two TC's I bought for $5 each at Academy will go on the auction block! I like my jackhammers.

I like the regular chatterbait over the JH version except for the hook which is def better on the JH. The TC seems to have more of a subtle "chatter" but starts just as quick for me and the hook is a good one.

Yep, the CBC pretty much is radical anti American. My wife calls her mom (in Can.) almost every day on her drive home from work and usually talks 20-30 minutes. The stories they get from their "news" is unreal. Like: "Texas is on fire with the COVID after opening up". And they are good little sheep.

Dont sleep on Picasso stuff. Starts up just as well as the jackhamer and is comparable in every other aspect too.......except for staying down. the picasso still stays down very well....but the JH can take being reeled faster and not blowing out than the Picasso could. thats pretty much been the only negative to the picasso.

Weekly ban??? Sure felt like it, not this time though.
