Hey guys,

My family and I take a trip week long down to Fork every year and we are coming down this Saturday. Can anyone give me an idea of the lake level and the water temps around the lake? Gotta start packing my gear.

I was out on Fork for my first time saturday, I was told the lake is at "full pool" not above, not low, just normal, water Temps I saw were in the 62 to 63 degree range, I did fish about mid lake on the west side, I did not catch anything, I spoke to 8 or 10 different anglers and they were saying the same thing, I think the clod front may have slowed them...I'm going next weekend to give it another shot as we are expecting a good warm-up all this week.

Are you bringing a boat with you? Do you have Lance Vicks "Boat Lanes" chip on your GPS? You say you come down every year. So do you know the lake very well. It should be a good week. Weather seems to have stabilize a bit now.

Main lake temps mid lake to dam and pockets 61-65. Bass pretty much in full spawn all phases. Even found one pocket with the 1-2 lbers schooling. Found a good early bite over the weekend but pretty much if you ain’t looking at them it’s pretty slow for most. However, when you find one that will stay they have been east to catch. Seeing them is a bit of a challenge and the ones easy to see have been hammered and are pretty lure shy. Things are a week or two late if you come this time every year. A couple of coves just loaded up with a new wave of fish. Still is chilly in the morning and evening so bring jackets, jeans, and shorts.

You gotta have good eyes right now. Rog hit the nail on the head. Lots of fish on beds. And lots of beds hard to see.

If you can’t see them, throw a fluke around shallow. You’ll catch fish guaranteed.
