Money talks but I bet he wishes the chips would have fallen another week later. He should be in the discussion for the UNC job.

He would have never been offered the UNC job. UNC hires from within the UNC family.

24 hours later, I'm over my initial disappointment and anger at this news, and after listening to Kirby Hocutt's press conference yesterday, I'm optimistic that he will bring in a coach that will continue to build on the foundation that Chris Beard started. Our identity as a program has never, and will never revolve around a single person. We still have one of the best basketball facilities in the nation, and a fan base that is second to none. I also don't believe this was ever about money to Beard. Hocutt said a lifetime rolling contract was discussed and turned down last fall. Plus, Tech never had the chance to present a counter offer. The allure of coaching at his alma mater was a lot stronger than I expected it to be at this point in his career.

Let’s see work in town that is a glorified Cotten field/feedlot or work in a town that is on the banks of the beautiful Colorado for more money. Hobson’s choice for sure.

Labeling this a Hobsons choice scenario is asinine.
