Same problem here and I've tried multiple brands. Trokar with the fiber seemed to work the best, but still a few misses. Monday I rigged it differently with no guard, rigged with the hook tip barely protruding the bait and didn't miss a hook set after doing that. Went 6 for 6 on hook ups.

I use gama with fiber weed guard and I pinch a 1/16 spit shot on shank...never put weight in the worm I'm using so I get a straight fall and both ends have free movement.....feel a tick or vibration or see line move I just flick my wrists.....virtually never lose a fish with wacky rig

VMC weedless neko hook, two O rings crossed (size 11), and a 1/32nd nail weight in a yum dinger are about all use wacky style. Rarely miss or lose a fish with the setup.

The Gamagastu “G finesse” is a good hook, but kinda pricey.

I use a light wire Khale style hook with no o-ring. Rarely miss a fish and no need for a hard hook set, just sweep the rod while reeling and it will almost always hook them in the top of the mouth. My setup is a medium light action rod with a baitcaster spooled with 8lb. floro.
Falcon Lures K hook is a great one. Also comes in weighted versions if you want a faster fall or want to fish a wacky deeper.

It is a Strike King Pork-O's Lightn'in Strike, I think it comes in 3/0 and 5/0. They aren't real expensive, 5 in a pack. Academy has them
