Get in a creek near you and fish it. Hit drop offs , deep banks , brush tops , lay overs in the middle of the creek , cat tails and possibly timber r stumps close by. I’m finding if you just hold the jig in there very still they will snatch it up. Good luck.

PS Anything that looks brushy period is worth sticking and sometimes they are in that hard to get to place in that thorny brush top in the creeks.

Coached in Brady for 4 years, love that lake. At the risk of offending you crappie guys, it’s a lot better bass lake than a crappie lake. Had one of my best “bass days” on a Good Friday in the late 90’s. I’d put down the crappie jig and tie on a 3/8 oz. black/blue jig with the trailer of your choice, just sayin.

There is an enclosed fishing barge on a secondary creek near the dam. Can’t guarantee the crappie bite but it may be an option.

You can always eat BBQ at hard eights, that alone is worth the trip.

Ranger the Hard 8 in Brady is long gone. Has been several different venues. Boondocks across the street past the light has a great Chicken Fry.

Dang, didn’t know that. So how does a bbq place that good go out of business?? Thanks for the heads up. Next thing you know, I’ll hear they quit doing the goat cook off.
