Did this happen in Dallas? They have a very lenient shoplifting policy up there. Just ask the Police Chief.

They actually encourage stealing in the city of Dallas. They promote it

Don't park a F250 Diesel on their lot (BPS) They will steel it also.

Been there and done that.

IN fact about 2 dozen or more, have been taken from the Garland BPS

Mark, is correct about the theft. Two years ago, I park in the back a couple of spaces away from the rest of the trucks. I was in the store for 10 minutes. Walk out the exit door while handling an emergency phone call.
I see a guy walk around my truck but didn't think anything of it. Go to bump remote unlock and i dont hear anything.
I get in and notice my briefcase was gone and my center console was open and things thrown out.
The only thing I see in my console was my .40. I must have happened on him before he could grab it.
Looked around but I think he had already got picked up or was hiding in a vehicle.
I went in the store and got the manager. I just wanted him to be aware of the situation.
Manager told me it happens all the time. Thieves think if your at a hunting store you probably got guns in the truck.
He even told me his Ford had also been vandalized. When I asked about video camera's he said the parking lot was on City property, not his responsibility. ??? Shame on Bass Pro shop.

Dallas County DA Office won't prosecute unless theft is over $750. Garland is in Dallas County. It's like a thievery sanctuary county.

I stopped at the Garland BPS and parked way out and went in the store for 20 minutes, came out and some IDIOT had run into my truck and left. I will never go back again. They don't care what happens in the parking lot.

The city will tell you it's not their property. Trust me, I've been there.

Garland. Apparently, they had all of their Megabass jerk baits stolen as well. After speaking with the employee it seems to easy for the POS thieves to get away with.

As a loss prevention person for several years, even if you saw them conceal, leave the store, make contact, instruct them to return, you're sol. You can't lay hands on them. Then when they walk off,you cant leave the curb. If by chance you get a plate, its always a dealer tag. Dallas PD, will not come out on av retail theft . we were instructed to get info and file later , if we were lucky enough to get them to come back.
