I will show up around 7ish.. Action has been good around dusk!

By the way waist deep at the point after yesterdays rain means you will be fishing from the parking lot..

Just have a look when you get there!

I caught like 6 almost back to back.

Then some other bank fishermen, who were fishing on the bottom with live bait, came over to me and asked me what setup I was using. I told them I was throwing weighted corks with crappie jigs on a 3 foot leader.

So I helped them make a few with my tackle and by the time we were done the sun had already set and the %$#$ing wind had picked up again! So casting was all but to 15 yards out.

I am going out there tonight with my mom to throw more corks about an hour before sundown. Should be good action at that time!

Zack,Your right about waist deep in the parking lot,I stopped off on my way home tonite and the guard rails for the parking lot are under water!WEEEEEIIRD!!!Also saw a couple of amatures tossing those corks around ,They need lots of pratices! grinAlso for those lurking I met up with the taxi driver,he was the 1st one I saw use that cork method ,I belive he is from Laffia(sp)gave up driving a cab and owns a cleaners in Richardson now,but lives in the area, you'll know him,he can flat launch that cork and keeps a rod w/a top water in his back pocket,he's a sight!!!He speaks broken English ,I told him about the forum, not sure he understood??

with this high water I fish nothing but the trails because I don't like getting in the water anymore, dunno why. Zack, do you use a weighted cork? I have this sandbass/sandtrout rig that I use down at the coast that would probably work well at murrel but I haven't tried it yet

Couldn't resist went by after dinner 7:30 or so there were 8-10 folks in the water,Zack had set up 3-4 rookies w/ bobber setups and had a few others that were copied, most of the fishermen were kids, a few of the girls looked errrrr legal....water was approx.waist deep at the guard rail made several cast with no luck then all the sudden, sandies in a feeding frenzy within my casting distance, none of the kids could get there so they had to stand in awe of Mr.senior citizen hooking up!!I had one fish swallow the bait and jacked with it trying to get him off for a long time almost missed the rest of the schooling run, lasted about 15 minutes and it was over, Zack was picking up one or two here and there as he was casting to a different area. All in all lot of fun,I'd do it again!!

Today because of the wind I was using my BIG Boy weighted corks.

This hog is a BEAST! You really need 15# to utilize this heavy of a cork, as well as a 10-12' med. to heavy pole.

All and all I went away with 14 total, 7 were keepers I gave to the rookies. Tony and Pyong? Caught 3 and 4 each but their corks were far too light to fight the wind today.

Pyong also caught 2 bass on my rooster tales at sundown but lost them both, probably the same bass too and he jumped really high!

I am going up to Barlows to buy the rest of the Big Weighted Corks, if anyone wants one let me know and I will let you use some of my setups if your at the point.

So the bait of today was a weighted cork ultra green marabou jigs on a 3' 20# Fluorocarbon leader. (should have used 30# to offeset the wind today)

dad gum Zack, 10-12 foot pole with that cork?? thats what I do at texoma but I am catching 2-7 pounders. How far are we casting here, I say I get about 40-50 feet with my lil rooster tail.

It gets pretty far just on my Daiwa Coastal 7' rod. I usually never bring it out but the WIND, dang the wind!

Besides the sandies were in close enough to hit with slabs and humdingers tomorrow so that will be my weapon of chose.

I might throw the cork but it's like a grenade when it hits the water. So if you see any fish with missing heads or holes in them you know it was from my mortar of death.
