Plan on going this Saturday for a little night fishing, has anyone been doing any good and if so were(don't need your honey hole just a pattern would be nice.) I haven't been down for crappie this year only bass so really have no idea how the bite is. Thanks

I went last weekend and fished for about 3 hours right at sunset and thereafter. We had 8 keepers and at least that many pitchbacks (lots of 9.5's) in 12-22 feet of water with the fish being suspended up higher. They were real scattered though. I never tied or anchored...just used the TM and the gnats were so bad I couldn't have my deck light on so I was literally fishing in the dark with only one cheap hanging light over the side....still fun though. In retrospect I probably should have tried to anchor.

We went down Friday morning. Due to other commitments, we had to go during the day instead of our normal night trip. Didn't catch many, but what a day to be on the lake. High temp of 84 and the water was like glass all day long. Sure beat working. Dusty, I hope you are tearing them up as I am writing this.

I'll likely be going this Friday night if the weather holds. What do you call a typical night like in terms of numbers of fish caught?

Radtexan, I plan on being there either Saturday night or Sunday morning. It will be the first trip primarily for crappie fishing this year at AH. Good luck, hope we find them.

Radtexan, how long were you out of a boat? I remember some time ago you posted that your rig was in the shop. Hope you got it all straigntened out. I know I won't make it this weekend, but several of us are working on a trip the 29th. Hope nothing changes those plans.

I had that happen to me once years ago. I took a boat that had been in the barn for several years to the shop to get it running. I was going to Buffalo to check it out when my wife & daughter decided to go, so of course nothing less than Alan Henry would do and we had to "pack". The US Army took less stuff to the first Gulf War than they put in my boat. We made it to the 1st point north of the dock when she backfired & died. Sure makes you sick when you just dropped a few hundred $$ on a motor. Thankfully there were two kind folks who towed us in, and then the shop made it right on the motor.

Hope you tear them up, Radtexan. My wife & daughter are doing the garage sale thing this weekend, so there is no joy in my life. I have to go deliver a dining table & chairs they just sold.
