Left lane is for passing only! Pass the person in the right lane and get the heck over! Oh and if you aren't doing at least the speed limit, then don't be in the left lane.

We had a few rr crossings around my house where I grew up, that was something I learned way before driving, not only that but stop before crossing over and look both ways

If you are turning right at an intersection onto a multilane road, turn into the right hand lane.
If you are turning left at an intersection onto a multilane road, turn into the left hand lane.

I was not suggesting that "never stop on railroad crossings" should be #1. I was just giving my "1st" suggestion. I'll give another. 2. Never, ever drive behind someone who is "hauling" something or "pulling" something. If you are turning left at an intersection onto a multilane road, turn into the left hand lane. In Texas you are allowed to choose any lane. Maybe so, but it's a good way to get into a wreck, especially where both lanes can turn.

If you are turning left at an intersection onto a multilane road, turn into the left hand lane. Back when I taught Drivers Education this is what we taught. But no one takes drivers ed anymore, that’s why there’s such terrible drivers on the road.
