Almost drove down there earlier but it's 100 miles round trip and gas isn't cheap. Instead I scouted my local spots and found one that should be a hotspot after the water clears up. Any Wednesday post rain reports from Nolan?

You made the right choice, Treadlightly. The Nolan will not fire up until we get a good soaking rain. The little bit of rain we have gotten did nothing to the river flow. It is suppose to rain all next week, so that may change things around here for the better.

I come from the water.

A friend fished this morning.... More crowded than he had ever seen. Water even lower now than before very little flow. Very few fish being caught. Be glad when spring break is over and the crowds thin out a bit. Need rain desparately. Id stay home til then Jkb

There evidently was one good day of fishing after that brief rain. Then nada after the water dropped.

The Fort Worth Fly Fishers had a club outing there today, may explain the crowd.

We went to Nolan river park today. The wife fished from the bank, and I paddled out to the timbers. I managed a single 14" Sandie. She landed a nice 13.5" crappie with a few misses. I could see what looked like schools of sand bass in the channel, but I couldn't manage to stay on top of them. At least we didn't get skunked, and have a bit of dinner.

Against my better judgement I went last Saturday and saw the fly fisherman gathered in town. I got to Rock Creek before the sun was up and there were already 40+ cars. I only stayed for an hour before I went home and picked up my little girl for some local bream fishing. One guy was catching with minnows but no one else was. Two weeks ago I went and caught 20 in the hole just to to the left of the creek but it took about 6-7 hours. Maybe the rain tonight will give them enough to get past the creek.

I'm here in the nolan now and the white bass are here feeding, I don't think they are in full run spawning but the rains did help, I caught 6 in an hour and none have eggs. Got here at 2pm

Not much action today. Managed no keepers and didn’t see anyone catching much either.

Nolan is a total bust today compared to Friday, to many people and not enough fish, I would only go on weekdays
