I purchased my first G Loomis NRX and I must say I am very impressed. I got a 852S for wacky rigs and paired it with a Shimano Vanford 2500. I don't know if I caught more fish with this rod than I normally would, but I was blown away by how light and balanced this setup is. I caught 12 bass on it and was also super impressed. I caught a 7 and an 8 pounder and the rod handled it like a champ as the bass fought hard and ripped line off my drag multiple times. There were several times when I had to really pull on the rod to keep them from wrapping around a log. I was amazed a rod this light could have that much backbone. The only problem is I think I am becoming a rod snob as far as what I want to fish with. I worry I will buy more smile

It’s one of the best bad habits to have. IMO.

I’ve been wanting an NRX for a while now. I have a few GLoomis but haven’t got the Cadillac yet. Really hate that I read this as it is pushing me toward pulling the trigger!

Great rods for sure. Anyone know why they're not on Tacklewarehouse's website anymore. To many backorders?

Yeah, I have a new poison rod and a high-end custom jig rod that I really like but the lightness of the g Loomis is incredible. It's just a joy to fish with. The only advice I would give is whatever NRX you pick make sure to fork up the cash for a super-light reel to pair with.

Oh, also the skipping wacky rigs with the 852s is ridiculously easy.

Sounds pretty good! I recently picked up the poor man’s version of your rod. The 852 spinning model in E6X. Haven’t fished it yet but I really like the tip on it and I think it’s gonna be awesome for wacky rigs.

Yeah it seems like everytime I go to buy a few more almost every rod is on back order with it being a few months wait everytime.

Southwestern service in Dallas has quite a few of them in stock. They also give discounts on cash purchases. So...it would be cheaper than TW for sure.

It always starts this way, you buy one, like it-love it, you've seen the light and yes you do need one for throwing jigs and maybe another for that worm rig and when they are finicky maybe a ned rig --- its a sickness but incurable at best. How are you liking that Vanford they seem really nice?

I really like the Vanford. I think the stadtic is a better looking reel but I love the lightness of the reel and it seemed to really hold up well from a drag standpoint. I think the are pretty much the same. If I already had a stradic I don’t think I would upgrade bc I don’t think there is much difference.

Did the vanford replace the stradic ci4? I don't see it on TW anymore.

Gloomis probably has limited supply and the internet says the new models with be released sometime this year. I think American Legacy recently got a shipment of NRXs in stock.
