Had a person ask to borrow my truck once. I said no, but would be happy to drive them to pick up what they needed the truck for. No one else drives my truck, not even my wife.

Had a person ask to borrow my truck once. I said no, but would be happy to drive them to pick up what they needed the truck for. No one else drives my truck, not even my wife. good policy.

It's one thing if he ask you to help him haul/move something, completely different situation asking to drive your truck.  "My" truck is a company vehicle so no one else can drive it. "Our" truck belongs to my wife and I don't think she would let anyone drive it.

I rarely loan out a vehicle to anyone that's not family... and those people are so close, they might as well be family. I no longer own a large truck. My mom has a Nissan Frontier and her brother had the old F150 I used to drive. If I need something bigger than those, then I probably don't need the item. Honestly, the older I get, the cheaper those delivery fees seem to be.

Nope. You are correct as usual.  There's a very short list of folks that I'd let borrow my truck and they'd let me borrow theirs. Of course, those people wouldn't ask to borrow it in the first place as they have their affairs in order or a contingency plan. It's the same with borrowing money. Assuming it's a standing "no."

My wife knows some couples that don't own a truck.... but always need to borrow a truck. My neighbor is in the same boat. Somehow borrowing my truck always gets brought up.
I understand if you're having vehicle issues or maybe broke enough to where you can't choose what you drive and I have borrowed vehicles before for one of those reasons but damn, it sounds like they need a truck often enough to own one.
Today I said no. No more driving my truck around because you found some [censored] you want to buy or picking up a yard of dirt. The reaction I got was "omg are you serious". Am I in the wrong here? Depends on what the wife looks like? Pics?

Never borrow or loan out anything with a motor/engine. Wisdom from my dad.
If they aren't close enough that you would be willing to take your time to drive your own truck and do it for them, I'd probably cordially decline. This. You better be a close friend or a family member I actually like and trust.
