Went to Lake LBJ the other day, and everything has mossy, slimy junk on it. I can't seem to fish a Texas Rig, let alone a jig, in this stuff without the lure getting covered in the slime. Every cast, cleaning off my lure. No confidence that I will ever get a bite when my lure is always covered in junk. So what do you guys do to keep the slime off the lure? Drop Shot? I am at a loss, but admittedly in a fishing funl right now. Cant seem to catch diddly. I did get a nice toad on a jig pitched to a bush but she hit it as soon as I dropped it on top of her head. I just got lucky, didn't know she was there.

Weightless plastics. T rigged or wacky rigged.

How to fish it: Don't.

I don't think the fish like that stuff anyways but when I really want to try its just weightless plastics as Steez suggested. A frog goes over it pretty easily too.

That's every year on lbj. Wacky rigs and senkos do the most work out there

I've done well with a fluke rigged with an wide gap hook, nose pulled over the knot & short tag, sprayed with Bang. Slides thru w/o too much accumulation, letting it sink in the holes. It's aggravating to fish, but hey better than no fishing! Good luck!
