Then as weather warms up switch to live bait if it can be found!

Assuming most good live bait to fish Whitney stripers mostly comes from Lake Aquilla, or not!

Certainly a lot easier to find on Aquilla.

I asked if Aquilla had a major bait fish kill off in this bad winter we just had? It could have, Bait Fish is kind of hard to find over there now of days!

I asked what about the sandies? Some people are saying the smaller, lakes are they starting to move up stream already!
He said! Oh they are! Small streams, and rivers are loaded with them! Its time to go fish your best spots, especially if you can find shad! Whitney has good sandie reports already!!

This is my experience with Aquilla over the past couple of weeks. Before the freeze I could throw my net 3 or 4 times and load up with enough shad for a trip to whitney. Now I am catching 1 or 2 shad with every throw.
BTW, you don't need to be concerned about me transferring water from Aquilla to Whitney. I fill my shad tank with tap water from home, and I add water conditioner that removes the chlorine. (WalMart - pet/aquarium aisle - yellow bottle)

Wow, looks like shad are going to be tough to come by this year. Certainly blows for us live/cut bait guys. Especially being as we were all used to big bait hauls, and plenty of baitfish everywhere, before the big freeze.
