Pedal is binding up. Possibly. Look for used plastics or something else keeping the pedal from having a full, unobstructed travel.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

I didnt have enough slack in my transducer cable. It was binding up when the head turned around which kicked off the spot lock.

During the set up you have to set the "boat scale" for the size of your boat. You might want to try adjusting it. My other suggesting is to ask your question on the trolling motor forum on Bass Boat Central. Or just do a search on that particular forum section. It could be something real simple. Or call Jones Trolling Motor in Texarkana. They are the forum moderator and an authorized service center. They definitely can tell you what to try or need to do.

I have had this happen several times with my terrova. The minn Kota rep told me that it is not getting good gps signal. I would spot lock on remote and it would just drift without turning on motor. I would have to turn everything off and repair the remote with motor. Most of the time it would solve the problem. It only happens on one lake I fish that is out in the boonies so I believe mine was a gps issue.
