We are going with a friend to the lake house next Thursday and Friday. We will have kids with us. I have read enough on here about the crappie being great. We will have a john boat, lots of minners, and some corks. The house is within sight of the 198 bridge. My plan is just use cruise the docks and drown minners. Would it be a waste of time to fish the bridge columns this time of year? I am assuming they are shallow and ready to spawn. Also, any tips appreciated!

Just trying to remember to turn my lights off backing down the ramp!

There are 3 bridges on 198. The bridge over Caney Creek has some shallow water on the north end; fish that area. Fish the rip rap leading to the other bridges for spawners.
Good fish

I know that the bite has been hit and miss. Went couple of weeks ago and got 44 between two of us. Went a week later and got 4.

Find you a creek and get in it. Start on the banks fish tree tops laid over in the water if you do t find them shallow fish the middle on structure they are there. Kings creek is a good one I’ve heard. I would stay north. Possibly find any Chanel going in to coves pound shallow and work out. Also another secret on cedar is the rock banks over by the dam they spawn tgere and I heard it’s cranking up. Good luck.
