I always had good luck with these on those pesky bedding bass. Haven't seen one of those in years. When I was a kid we used to use them to snag bunker for striped bass fishing.

I have heard from some old timers that placing a slit in your soft plastic & inserting a piece of alka seltzer in the slit will provoke them to bite. Anyone else ever heard of this? Good Idea. Seems I've heard of this as well

Is this where the bed was? Let me go get my Costas from the boat. I’ll find her.

Was the fish locked (returning to the bed almost immediately) or would she spook and swim off for a bit before returning?

When that happens, I get the male to bite repeatedly until he swims off with it. Typically, the female eventually will get agitated and move in close enough you can shake off the male and then swim it by the female until she eats it

She is going to have to be caught from a boat. I've have good luck putting a half of alka seltzer up inside of a tube worm. Good luck!

I maybe be able to get on the other side of the creek and wade out a little and make long enough cast to get to her. She is up in one of the arms

If she's locked down and not actively spawning with the male she's pretty easy to catch. Just comes down to experience at this point. Gotta figure it out. They all are different, act different, etc.
