Have the crowds subsided? Looking at taking my little brother on a trip this weekend, but don't want to fight the masses.

You should be fine, most of the tournaments shift to cold water lakes by March

I went Saturday afternoon about 2:30 there was 2 tournaments getting ready to weigh in and trucks were parking on the main road. There was beds everywhere but never saw any bass or fry. We did see several 3-4 lb bass being weighed in not sure what won.

I went to Pirkey this morning (03-09) and fished till around 11:30 AM and gave up on it for the day. The power plant is not generating and the water temperature was 58° to 59° depending on which side of the lake. There was a major die off of the Tilapia due to the freeze last month and they are starting to stink. They line the bank on the hot water side and I could see them out in the Hydrilla in over 5' of water. Thankfully there were hundreds of White Pelicans at the lake feasting on them.
