NPFL has a stage, openly welcomes the fans, and format is the big fish are the target. Biggest 3 day weight bag wins. They are live broadcasting all three days of their event, Thursday, Friday, AND Saturday, and the whole field of anglers fish all days of the event; which has no splitting the field, or resetting of points, no penalty gimmicks, etc...it’s pretty much straight forward. MLF on the other hand, have no stage, they don’t want fans, and the target is whatever the size of fish they can get to bite frequently, typically they are after the schoolers that meet minimum weight/length in feeding frenzy’s.
Provided NPFL gets the technology aspect correct and exceed expectations in that arena, I think they will do well in their inaugural season. Word is, is they are having a media day of sorts starting tomorrow with fine tuning of cameras and broadcast during Wednesday’s practice day. Sponsors for the inaugural season are supposed to be announced during the media days leading up the the event.
Weather looks to be good for them to smash them and it will be interesting to see the weight differences between that and that deadcrest tournament a week ago.

Its the MLF big 5 at Smith, they have a stage...and a weigh in and fans. Nah, they lost those when FLW went bye bye and it was taken over by that MLF group which made it a AAA circuit hiding behind a Pro name. All the big name anglers that where holding the smart money moved over to the BASS opens to work on qualifying for a real pro league once that happend. Only the dumb money remains fishing that circuit. Guys that seemingly don’t know how to recognize when they’ve been cheated out of huge sums of tournament purse money, and other opportunities because the ownership group would rather pick and choose instead of having a structured and adhered to advancement process.

You know that the Pro...Skeet Reese won. Isn’t he one of those guys who aren’t supposed to be paying entry fees? How’s that working out for him? Those BPT anglers step down to the AAA league to fish and go around touting how well they do? That’s kinda like the Pro MLB players stepping down to the minors and boasting about being able to hit home runs., eh?

You realize that an enormous amount of BASS pros fish the "AAA" Opens right? And they as well are proud when they finish good in those too. People just wanna fish for a living man. Just let this go

My guess most people will watch the Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit. Way more familiar pros fishing that tournament. I've never heard of NPFL or any of the guys fishing it. I guess if you get a group of guys together and pay enough entry fee that makes you a pro.

Just let this go I am not a proponent of BASS Elite anglers doing the same in the Opens, either. First of all, It takes away a spot for those trying to qualify when there is already a waiting list. I realize the MLF/Big 5 AAA may not have that waiting list as an issue, but that’s besides the point; and yes, the pro that is stepping down to fish AAA by default is deemed having an advantage from a skill standpoint.

I am looking forward to the NPFL event and hope they pull off a good tournament but their announcers certainly have a chance to ruin it with Luke, David and that other dude.

Actually it takes nothing away from those trying to qualify for the Elites. If an angler who is already in the Elite series finishes in the top of points at end of season he is then double qualified and it simply moves down a spot to the next angler in the standings.
