Warmer dirtier water or colder clearer water?

Warmer water this time of year typically will hold more fish.

Dingy water heats up faster than clear and holds heat better.
Dingy water is easier for a bass to ambush forage than clear water.
A Clay bottom will heat up faster than sand and holds heat better.
Areas with old vegetation on the bottom heat up faster.
Darker bottom will heat up faster than a light color bottom.
Coves or banks on the north side tend to heat up faster than those on the south side
(because they dont get cold surface water blown into them when a cold north wind blows.)

Bass have an optimum temp that they prefer to be in.
If water temps are below that, they tend to move to the warmer temp water.
If water temps are above that, they tend to move to cooler water.
Spawn time can be an exception.
In general, the further the water temp is from their optimum temp, the less aggressive the fish will be.
(smaller strike zone, slower lure presentation)

There. Now you know everything that I know.
