It’s entirely possible for a two and a quarter year old child to unlock a deadbolt, open the door and take off. Saw it today in person. I’ve got some child proving to do around here.

It's amazing how quickly they can adapt to their surroundings and escape.
My brother-in-law has a Great Dane that figured out how to escape in less than a day. True story.

My oldest son did that when he was 2 (now 18) and I put latches at top of all exterior doors. Problem solved. Now he’s old enough to get into real troubles.
