I'm looking at both and probably will buy a new one in the next month or so. Still researching for now.

What are your experiences?

I'll be towing a 40 foot fifth wheel some @ 18,000 to 19,000 lbs

I am partial to fords. My buddy traded his ford in for a dodge and loves it.

I've owned them all, and for MY money it's RAM. Cost of ownership has been lower with RAM.

Food for thought. Rumor is Ram will offer a new tranny for the 3500 later this year when the 2022 model is released. The source said they will offer the Cummins with an Allison or ZF tranny instead of the popular heavy duty Aisin tranny that is currently an option in the 3500. The Aisin is proven and popular with the guys that tow heavy loads. While Aisin is a Global 500 company and Toyota owns the majority share, Allison has better brand recognition in the US. Cummins with an Allison could be an interesting combo.

My son just bought a Dodge with the big diesel. He pulls a 45’ gooseneck RV. Said it does a great job. He’s a Dodge guy. I’m a ford guy. We make it work.

LET’S GO BRANDON!!!

Bought a Ram 3500 dually CTD high output with a 4:10 rear end to replace a 2015 Chevy Duramax with a 3:73 gears. There is no comparison to the two trucks . The Ram not only holds the weight better it pulls like there's no tomorrow. I realized you're not comparing Chevys but my vote is for Ram.

FYI my trailer is #19,500 gvw.

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 DRW Laramie Longhorn CC LB Cummins Aisin. I've had Chevy and Ford prior to this truck. This truck is by far a way better truck than my previous trucks. Even with the 3.42 gears, it pulls my 36' Montana 5er with ease.

Ram has the better one ton. Their interior is better by far. Ford is coming out with a new super duty next year.

Following, but thinking 2500 instead of the 3500.

Cummins has it all over the Ford motor. The Aisin tranny is better too.

Big difference in all 3 diesels/transmissions from 6 years ago. Kind of like putting new tires on a car and saying their so much better then the old ones.
