Well here's the update. I saw a lot of water. Bait seem to be on the move. There were some up shallow, but not enough to throw at. Looked all over the place and saw bait but in small pods. Finally found them in good numbers at the Ticky Creek inlet in about 20 feet of water. One throw and we were good for the day. Had a couple 10 inchers and some smaller ones. dragged baits through the inlet. Saw fish stacked all over the place. only managed to get one to bite. 15 pounds or so. That was all. Moved back to the west side and drifted up by Brockdale. Caught one more that should have been 6 pounds but he was probably 10. His gut was so stuffed it looked like he ate a football. If that was an indication of how those blues reacted to the shad kill, it's no wonder the bite has been slow. Anyway, it was a nice day to be on the water. I was blessed to be able to get out there. I'm encouraged that things will continue to get better as the weather warms. Tight lines y'all...

I was pulling for ya Tim! Your one of the few guys on here willing to give us a report no matter if itโ€™s good or bad. I appreciate the info amigo and thanks for the report! March is feast or famine for me and this month has always been my most inconsistent on Lewisville. My past years Iโ€™ve done good maybe 1 out of 4 trips in March. I usually catch fish but they are mostly dinks. If I could get the month of March sured up Iโ€™d feel like a more complete Bluecat angler. I still have a ways to go but hopefully this March I can get some things figured out. Iโ€™ll be out there Sunday in the shallows graphing my tail off looking for toads...

Chris, I hope Sunday works out for ya! I agree with you about March. It is a hit or miss month. I think because they are in transition. I for one am happy this winter is about over. I only managed a few trophy class fish this winter and I had hoped to do better. I had one in the 40s and I think about 8 in the 30s. I know some are gonna say shut up and stop complaining. A few years ago I would have too. But I'm trying to get better and as you say I want to be the complete Blue Cat angler. I have had as good numbers or better in the spring, fall and summer. July last year was epic for me. It all boils down to time on the water and the more the better. Wyatt and I will be back at it Saturday. Good luck to you and Jaxon Sunday...

Blue Blazer - Everything you said is true! It was beautiful, I didn't get skunked and a 15 pounder is a nice fish. I hope you get what you are after Saturday. A box of eater and a toad or two would make anybody's day. Good luck brother! See on the water...
