When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

After 3 pages, I am no closer to having a clean answer on which route to go here.

Option 1: Go with tried and true Garmin for the livescope, but you trade off not having mega 360. Another plus is that Garmin units actually have some availability right now.
Option 2: Go with Humminbird, but we have no idea when it will actually be available (even graphs/360) or if it will work well. BUT if it does work well, it would check all the boxes with livescope and 360.
Option 3: Continue to sit on the sideline, not learning livescope, and let the whole thing unfold until the answer becomes clear in another 6-12 months.

Here's my $.02. Why not get the livescope now and start learning it. When HB becomes available either switch to a whole HB set up and sell the livescope to offset some of the cost. Or just add HB 360 to you livescope setup. Livescope is the real deal. And Garmin was first to the party. Which tells me it won't be long before they launch something that will be improved over what Lowrance and HB are coming out with. So already being set up with Garmin may make it more plausible to upgrade to their latest and greatest. But having both 360 and forward facing would be the ideal situation.

Just my $.02.

I was in the same boat as you. Cant wait long enough for mega live to come out and even then dont know if it will compare or get a bad first batch like I have had before with johnson products. Already had mega 360 but just bought Livescope today instead of waiting. Too many tournaments being won on Livescope/active target to not have something like that.

I've asked about this before, but no one seems to want to tell me the answer.

You're no. 121 at RMP for a Mega Live. How does this work? Have you already paid for it, or have you put down some sort of conditional deposit?

Assuming 121 people have already paid for units, that's $181,500 that RMP has in the bank, and not delivered anything, or promised when they will.

That's a good business to be in.

Is 181k a lot of money or something? Don’t understand the business analogy

Incorrect. Considering I was told May before a consumer may even possibly see one from Humminbird rep today. Boat manufacturers get dibs first then all the major retailers then the major distributors before some online place who sells units will normally gets there’s. Sorry to burst ur high hopes but I’ve been seeing people who are having get refunds from RMP due to finding units elsewhere quicker.

I decided I'm going to go with Garmin. Proven technology and it's available. Time will tell on HB. I hope it's so great I have to reconsider in a year.
