Been a while since I've posted but figured I would give an update! I report the good, the bad, and the ugly and this was somewhere in there! The ice storm has kept me busy since I'm an insurance agent mainly so that cut into my prefish plans but I still managed to get about 8 hours on the lake and managed 12.5 pounds on my scale. We felt we catch 13.5-14 pounds each day and while we didn't think that would win it we figured maybe a respectable finish anyhow. I found my fish suspended anywhere from 2-12' down and pitched to them with 1/8oz hand ties from Slab Syndicate using 13' Sniper Rods from Frank at Lakeside Lure and Tackle. We also casted to them with 7' Jenko Trick sticks. We tried staying 20-25' off the fish and by day 2 that wasn't far enough! Folks I talked to said they kept their Livescope set at 70' and casted to fish at 50' and they would follow the bait and bite somewhere around 30-35' away. It's cool watching them turn around on Livescope and then follow your bait and bite it. I've said from the get go that fish will adapt to the pressure of Livescope and it's clearly happening IMO. We were in 19th place with 13.82 after day one with 17.27 leading and several 15 pounds stringers. We changed up our game plan on day 2 and that was a mistake and we only had 12.15 and fell to 52nd place with a 2 day total of 25.97 pounds for 14 crappie. Weights were awesome and I still walked away with some knowledge I will put to use at the next one! I have a couple weekend dates available March and April and weekday availability as well if your looking to book a trip.

Anyhow, we had a blast and want to thank all the folks that make it possible!

With all the rain these are about the only 2 pics I took! That said when I saw the forecast for rain every day I wasn’t even upset anymore! I though to myself at least it’s going to be a warm rain! After Crappie Expo in Branson and a hurricane in Louisiana for ACT I guess it takes a lot to get me flustered for weather tournament crappie fishing!

Last year the water looked like Chocolate milk and it was still hard to get up on fish. This year it was stained but not as muddy but you still couldn’t get up on them. If they didn’t spook off they were hard to get to bite. I’m assuming Grenada will be the same way. Never been there but looking forward to going there! Like Disney world for crappie anglers!

Heads high and smiles wide...It's not easy making it look easy. You're still in the hunt guys and will get'em next round.

I got to fish for 4 days straight and had crawfish and shrimp and Johnny's pizza! Life is good!!!! thumb

Ran to Fork for a bit and put 15 in the boat casting to them there as well. Nothing over 2 pounds on my scale but all but 2 were at least 1.5! Felt good to get back on Fork! cheers
